Start date: 01.11.2024, fixed until 31.12.2026 (This is a fixed-term contract in accordance with Section 2 of the academic fixed-term labor contract act [Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG]).

Scope of work: full-time position suitable for part-time
Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
- research on medieval Hebrew scientific and philosophical terminology
- textual studies
- input and maintenance of research data in the PESHAT database
- coordination of collaborations with external scholars and other projects on external data input and cooperations in digital humanities
- organization of and participation in the projects workshops and conferences, publication of research results
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field, plus doctorate.
- knowledge of languages relevant to the project (Medieval Hebrew is mandatory. Background in medieval philosophy is required. Knowledge of Arabic, Latin and/or Greek is desired)
- excellent communication and analytical skills
- experience in digital humanities projects and working with database software or willingness and ability to get acquainted with it
- motivation and ability to conduct independent research
- knowledge of German is helpful
